WRF Releases Effective Utilities Report Co-Authored by Dr. Rod van Buskirk
The Water Research Foundation Announces Release of "High-Performing Information Systems Aligned with Utility Business Strategy," co-authored by Westin's Dr. van Buskirk
Released by the WRF in conjunction with the U.S. EPA, the report describes the issues, approaches, and benefits to water utilities of implementing and aligning high-performing information systems with utility business strategy and needs. It describes the use of an "Enterprise Architecture" approach to affect a better return on information technology investments in terms of efficiency, effectiveness, and data-supported decision making by management. WRF announced that the research was sponsored to "help utilities develop and implement the 10 key attributes for Effective Utility Management (EUM), presented in Effective Utility Management: A Primer for Water and Wastewater Utilities (USEPA, AMWA, APWA, AWWA, NACWA. NAWC, WEF, 2008)."
Available online at no charge, the report includes an Excel-based tracking tool and guidance document. WRF is also airing a free webcast presenting the project results and resources on Thursday, March 6, 2014 at 3:00PM - 4:00PM (EST). Register here for the Webcast.
