Westin Announces New President Doug Spiers
Mr. Jerry Garrett, CEO of Westin Engineering, announced on March 18 that Mr. Douglas A. Spiers would be the new President of Westin.
As President, Spier’s first priority will be to continue to position Westin for growth, as well as ensuring that Westin continues to help the most forward-looking water and wastewater utilities in North America.
“Doug Spiers has accomplished a great deal for Westin,” said CEO Jerry Garrett. “With outstanding people like Doug in this new role, we will indeed be positioned for growth.”
For the past 11 years, Mr. Spiers has served as Vice President of the West Region and the National Consulting Practice. His commitment to Westin’s mission, vision, and core values, as well as his background in management and technology consulting services to utilities, will serve the company well. As a seasoned consultant to both the private sector and to more than 50 municipal utilities, Doug’s business and utility expertise are vital to the new role Mr. Spiers will assume.
Mr. Spiers earned a B.S. in Chemical Engineering at California Polytechnic University, a M.S. in Environmental Engineering at the University of San Francisco and a Juris Doctorate degree at Santa Clara University. He is a California native and has been married to Lydia, also a California native, for over 30 years. They are loving parents to one daughter Alyssa who is a Sophomore in high school. The Spiers family enjoys skiing, golf, music and travel.
